Aircrafts identification using moments invariants feature extraction and Bayesian Decision theory classification

The ability to reliably identify aircraft is an important aspect of air traffic safety. Civilian air traffic controllers need to be constantly updated on the status of aircraft moving through the local airspace. In military scenarios, the need to reliably identify aircraft is even more stringent, since erroneous identification could easily result in friendly fire incidents. This is a classic example of a pattern recognition problem.

The Association of Engineering Students is an initiative of engineering students in Kenya Polytechnic University College whose goal is to promote engineering science and technology as tools for development, and to create the necessary link with stake holders in engineering; all in order to enhance education and dissemination of information in Engineering and technology. It has a membership base of over 100 spread across all engineering disciplines in the university college.
